Kindred Spirits Quilt

I made this quilt for my great niece, Quinn.  The fabric panel is called Kindred Spirits: Anne of Green Gables based on the book "Anne of Green Gables".  I also made a matching pillowcase.  The quilt top is a fabric panel that looks like it was pieced together.  The back fabric is Anne of Green Gables farmhouse and trees, etc. on a pink background.

I quilted it using stitch in the ditch method and free motion quilting: meandering in the center area and various designs in the outer block areas.  This was made in March of 2021.

This quilt was made from several of my Dad's shirts.
I left the pockets intact.
The quilt pattern used is called "Shadow Box",
which is a free pattern on www.jordanfabrics.com
This size of this quilt is 61 x 85 inches.
The backing of the quilt is wide gray cotton
and it was quilted with light gray thread in an all-over loop pattern.

Quilt in Memory of Dad

I made this memory quilt from some of my Dad's plaids.
The blue and light gray fabric was purchased from Hobby Lobby.

The quilt pattern is a version of the Jacob's Ladder pattern.

The backing is Navy cotton purchased from Hobby Lobby and the machine quilting design is "Crazy Eights" which was done free hand in navy thread.

Here is the finished quilt with navy blue binding.
The completed size is about 66 x 77 inches.
I started this quilt on July 9, 2023 and completed it on August 31, 2023.

A Memory Bear for Jaxs

This memory bear was made from my brother's jeans and pocket t-shirt which was his uniform of choice as a auto mechanic.  I used light brown fleece for the head, hands, and feet.  The bear pants were made from his jeans and the bear shirt made from his t-shirt.  The bear shirt has a small chest pocket with a red felt heart to symbolize his love for his grandson, Jaxs.  My brother also had a cat.

The cat was made using an "in the hoop" embroidery file.  I also embroidered "PawPaw" on one foot and "Greg Pruitt 1964-2023" on the other foot.

Back of the bear has the Wrangler tag from the jeans and smaller versions of the belt loops.

California National Parks Quilt

This California National Parks quilt was made for my son who lives in California.  It features four California National Parks: Sequoia, Lassen Volcanic, Yosemite, and Redwood.

I purchased a quilt kit for this quilt from Villa Rosa Designs.
It included everything needed except the batting and backing fabric.
For the backing, I used a gray wide backing purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I quilted this with an allover meandering design.  This photo was taken before the binding was sewn on.
